So entsteht ein neuer Fahrradhelm – von der Idee bis zum fertigen Produkt

How does a bicycle helmet actually arise? What does the materials depend and how are the models designed? Good questions! We want to bring you closer to KED's processes and let you look a little behind the scenes. Because the development of a new helmet is an exciting process that includes many steps. At KED, this means that we follow a structured and creative approach from the first idea to the finished product. The focus is always on security, quality and the needs of our customers as well as customers. Let's take a look at KED production together.

Finding

The journey begins with the finding. Various aspects flow together here: Customer feedback, Market trends and Innovative concepts. Through our direct contact with customers - be it through the factory sale or at trade fairs - we collect valuable suggestions and wishes that help us develop helmets that are both safe and aesthetically appealing.

Market research and customer needs

Okay, the first ideas were collected - what now? At KED we attach great importance to market research to understand the needs of our customers. Workshops with sales representatives and regular surveys provide us with essential information that incorporates into product development. This means that our products always remain up to date and can meet all important requirements.

Innovation processes and brainstorming

In creative brainstorming sessions, we work out innovative ideas together with our team and try to integrate and implement all information, technologies and demands that we have developed in the previous steps. Technical options and trends also flow in to ensure that our helmets are not only functional, but also forward -looking.

Design phase

As soon as we have a clear vision, the design phase begins. Here our designers sketch the first designs and create prototypes. These prototypes are further refined in the test phase.

Sketch and prototype creation

The first sketches are transformed into digital designs, which are then converted into prototypes. During this process, we select materials that are both high quality and sustainable.

When choosing materials, we attach great importance to safety and quality. Innovative technologies help us to make the helmets easily and comfortably. The longevity and recyclability of the materials are important to us, which is why we only use high -quality raw materials that meet strict security standards.

Test phase

Now it goes into the test phase! This step is crucial - because here the prototypes are put through their paces. Security tests and quality controls are essential. Here we also start with the production of the tools - EPS Foaming tool, deep -drawing tool, milling recordings, and other. As a rule, this entire process takes eight to ten weeks. During this time we carry out further tests with the prototypes and get feedback from customers and customers.

Security tests and quality control

As soon as the first prototypes with the finished tools are ready, we will test them again. The necessary safety tests are carried out. Only if the helmet meets the requirements and the certification test exists can the helmet in series production.

Final feedback from test subjects

In addition, we get feedback from test subjects to ensure that our helmets meet the expectations of users. This feedback flows into the last design adjustments before series production.

production

Our helmets are produced in several steps. We work closely with our suppliers to get the best materials at the right time. The production methods vary depending on the helm type.

We use two main methods: the traditional method in which the bowl on the EPS is glued and the modern In-Mold-Production, in the shell and EPS to be foamed together. The individual production stations include Pressure, Pull down, Mill, Foam, Pre -assembly and Final assembly.

Market launch

Last but not least - the market launch follows after production. Here it is important to collect customer feedback and, if necessary, make small adjustments. Color changes and smaller modifications are possible in this step.

challenges

One of the greatest challenges in production at KED is to combine the highest quality standards with efficient work. Especially with the In-MoldProduction is decisive for the combination of precision and speed. State -of -the -art machines and well -trained staff are used here. Our location in Germany offers us the advantage of reacting and producing in a flexible manner to customer requests instead of producing large quantities.

However, this flexibility requires precise planning and coordination to reconcile the changing requirements of our customers with a smooth production process. In addition, the continuous testing of new, sustainable materials is a challenge that we take seriously. We have to ensure that these tests are carried out thoroughly without disturbing the regular production process. The balance between innovation, sustainability and efficiency therefore remains a constant task that we devote ourselves with great commitment.

Conclusion - this is how your KED helmet is created!

The path from the idea for the finished helmet is a dynamic process that requires creativity, precision and customer orientation. At KED, we are proud to develop innovative and safe products that not only offer protection, but also give fun. With every new helmet we continue our passion for quality and security and are happy that you are part of the KED Community are! So, Which helmet is your absolute favorite
