Action Bicycle: Germany's most bike -friendly schools win KED bicycle helmets - Eurobike 2024

At Eurobike 2024, the world's largest trade fair for bicycles, they have German traffic watch (DVW), the Initiative Action bike (AFR) and Bikepool Hessen The "most bike -friendly schools in Germany". The winners received high quality as a price KED bike helmets.

On July 5, 2024, the first “cycling in schools” took place as part of the Eurobike. Teachers from all over Germany took the opportunity to find out about the integration of bicycle offers into everyday school life.

The honor of the most bicycle -friendly schools in Germany was a highlight of the conference. The Pascal Gymnasium from Grevenbroich received the main prize. The integrated comprehensive school in Bonn-Fuel was recognized as the best "newcomer" and the Walter Lübcke school in Wolfhagen won in the "Innovative" category. All award winners received KED bike helmets that were presented by our KED team.

This award is done annually by the Action bike In cooperation with the Deutsche Verkehrswacht, in order to appreciate the commitment to promote cycling in schools and inspire other schools. Cycling not only promotes health and environmental friendliness, but also the independent and safe participation of traffic from students. It is therefore important that bicycle offers are anchored early in school education.

As part of the teaching conference "Cycling in schools", practical instructions and workshops were offered. Experts of the DVW and accident research by the insurers (UDV) presented the "Cycling training at school" program. In workshops for "bicycle workshop" and "driving technology" there were concrete tips and instructions to establish inexpensive and attractive cycling offers.

Our KED team was on site to hand over the helmets to the winners and support the event. We are pleased that our helmets are now being worn by the dedicated award winners and that we could be part of this important initiative.

The Eurobike 2024 was also a step towards a more bike -friendly future in schools. We look forward to supporting such projects in the future.
