Meager 300 students from 43 schools made their way to Dahlenrode to step into the pedals on site. The participants came from various federal states, including Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Berlin. Unfortunately, the team of the Freie Fröbel School Rudolstadt from Thuringia had to fit due to illness - head up, helmet up, next year you will be there again!

The Stadtsportbund Göttingen and the TuSpo Weende association ensured that the young cyclists were optimally cared for.

Day 1 of the German School Championship

The first day started with a course that certainly had it all. Anyone who thought that cycling was easy was instructed. A demanding approach to a boot wall not only called for courage, but also perfect balance. Three seconds standstill and then on without stopping? Phew, some people sweat! And as if that weren't enough, a cone had to be recorded and perfectly discontinued. All of this required perfect timing, strength and balance.

But mountain biking is more than just sport - it's a passion. Therefore, all participants were happy about the course, regardless of how well they did themselves.

Before cycling on the second day, there was a sociable and delicious pasta party in the evening. Not only were carbohydrates fueled here, but also chattered vigorously and ideas were shared. Teachers and teachers from different schools came together, got to know each other and exchanged tips for cycling together.

Day 2: The Finale

The second day brought the grand finale. The teams started in various competition classes, each with their own challenge. But before it went on the track, the participants were able to Scool Warm up. A brilliant idea to calm your nerves and get into the flow.

In order to stay in the flow, the technical details must of course be right. Good that the Connex professionals and Axa were on site. When the chain jumped or the brakes squeaked, they were there to fix everything.

The new one this year? The school group with most participants received a prize for the first time Ten KED helmets, to be exact. We are pleased that we were able to support the students with our products and motivate them to drive safely. Because with our helmets we set a clear statement for Security and style on the bike.

The Willy-Brandt-Gymnasium from Oer-Erkenschwick Cleared the helmet price. With the largest team, they showed that quantity and quality can go hand in hand.

In addition to the sporting competition, there was another highlight as part of the cycling funding: the honor of the Germany's most bike -friendly school. In front of an impressive audience of around 400 guests this was Pascal high school awarded in Grevenbroich for his outstanding commitment. Through numerous excursions with wheels, the campaign "Car Free to School Day", a bicycle workshop working group, and the integration of sustainable mobility into the curriculum, the high school earned the price.

The school had organized the honor as part of the "Pascal evening" - an annual event to appreciate particularly committed students. The supporting program included vocal performances and reports on school events.

Dirk Niermann from Action bike presented the price. This award once again underlines how schools can actively contribute to promoting cycling and sustainable mobility.
