The new Paganini RS-1 takes to the start line with the Holmenkol Racing Team

Meet the Paganini RS-1, our new road helmet for the 2026/27 season. The KED-sponsored Holmenkol Racing Team is already wearing it in competition. For your own rides, you can choose between the standard RS-1 and the RS-1 Mips.

What matters on a long ride

“The PAGANINI RS-1 is built for long distances at high speed. When you spend hours in the saddle, you notice every gram and every pressure point,” says Victor Borsche, Managing Director of KED Ahead.

On long climbs, eleven vents let air flow through the helmet. If you take your glasses off, slide the arms into the rubberised dock at the front. They’ll be within reach when the road turns downhill. A dial at the back lets you fine-tune the fit. The pads absorb sweat and lift out for washing after the ride.

What’s the difference between the RS-1 and the RS-1 Mips?

Both models use in-mould construction, which bonds the outer shell to the impact-absorbing EPS foam core. The RS-1 Mips adds a movable layer beneath the pads. In certain angled impacts, this layer can allow a small amount of movement between the head and the helmet. It’s designed to help reduce the rotational motion transferred to the head. Both versions have been tested to the European cycle helmet standard EN 1078.

  • The Paganini RS-1 weighs 250 g in M and 300 g in L. Its recommended retail price at launch is €89.95.
  • The Paganini RS-1 Mips weighs 280 g in M and 310 g in L. Its recommended retail price at launch is €119.95.

Which size fits you?

Both models come in Black Matt and White Matt. Size M fits a head circumference of 54–58 cm and L fits 58–61 cm. Run a tape measure around your head, keeping it level about two finger-widths above your eyebrows. At exactly 58 cm, both sizes are in range. If you can, try both and choose the one that sits securely without creating pressure points.

You can compare the two models side by side on the Paganini page.

How does the Paganini RS-1 Mips differ from the standard RS-1?

What were the launch prices for the two Paganini models?

The recommended retail prices at launch were €89.95 for the Paganini RS-1 and €119.95 for the RS-1 Mips, a difference of €30.

Which Paganini size fits a 58 cm head?

At exactly 58 cm, both M (54–58 cm) and L (58–61 cm) are in range. Measure horizontally around your head about two finger-widths above your eyebrows.
