The EPS-The inner shell of the KED helmets ensures maximum impact absorption in the event of a fall. The one integrated into the helmet shell Mips® Brain Protection System provides additional protection for the brain in the event of an oblique impact angle. The rotational forces that act on the brain in this case can cause brain damage. The low-friction shell of the Mips® Brain Protection System allows gliding of 10–15 mm in all directions at an oblique impact angle. The rotational forces acting on the brain can be efficiently reduced.

FIDLOCK® belt fastener

A FIDLOCK® belt fastener makes it incredibly easy to securely close the belt system. Thanks to the combination of magnetic force and mechanical locking, the FIDLOCK® Buckle closes virtually automatically and can be operated with just one hand.

BOA® Fit System

The BOA® Fit System is the tried and tested reference for adjustment systems in many sports products. With ingeniously simple one-handed operation, the head ring can be fine-tuned even while driving. The ergonomic BOA® Fit System guarantees a secure and perfect fit in all situations.

Suitable for speed e-bikes / S-Pedelecs

In addition to the European standard EN 1078, e-bike helmets also meet the requirements of NTA 8776 for Pedelec helmets. There is currently no legally effective EU standard for an S-Pedelec helmet. Therefore, an industry project group in the Netherlands came together and developed its own standard. The NTA 8776 was developed under the leadership of the NEN - Standards Institute for the Netherlands. Compared to a CE / EN 1078 certified helmet, an NTA 8776 certified helmet shell has a 10% larger protective area around the two most sensitive areas of the head: the back of the head and the temples. In addition, the NTA places approximately 40% higher demands on shock absorption.

In-Mold-Technology

The In-Mold-Technology ensures a seamless and firm connection between the outer shell and the EPS-Inner shell. The prefabricated microshell is inserted into the shape of the inner shell and “welded” to it during the foaming process. This In-MoldThe process thus enables a “seamless design” – a design implementation without transitions and with the highest optical quality and contour sharpness. Furthermore, it is convincing In-Mold-Procedure due to extremely low weight with very high safety protection.

Das ist bereits mein 2.. Der 1. hat mich bei einem Sturz geschützt und ist jetzt ausgetauscht. Beim Sturz bin ich seitlich auf die Straße gestürzt, das hat zu einer kleinen Platzwunde durch den Rand des Helms geführt. Das ist die Schwäche vieler Helme, dass bei einem seitlichen Aufprall der Schutz nicht so gut ist. Trotzdem bin ich froh, dass nicht mehr passiert ist. Der Helm sitzt gut und ist durch Blinklicht im Dunkeln gut zu erkennen. Ich würde ihn auch wieder kaufen. Hier stimmt auch Preis und Qualität.

Ich versuche hier so ausführlich wie möglich meine Erfahrungen mit dem Hersteller und dem gekauften Helm wiederzugeben:

Ich bin weltweit auf der Suche nach einem Helm mit umfassenden Sicherheitsfeatures für E-Bike und E-Scooter gewesen – und beim deutschen Unternehmen KED Ahead nach langer, ausgiebiger Suche fündig geworden. 🤗

Der Fahrradhelm Mitro UE-1 erfüllt die anspruchsvolle Norm NTA-8776 für E-Bike Helme ✅, da dieser an den Seiten und am Hinterkopf technisch hochwertig verstärkt ist.

Darüber hinaus nutzt er das renommierte Mips-System ✅, welches im Falle eines Unfalls die seitlichen Rotationskräfte auf das Gehirn erheblich mindert.

Ebenso hat KED Ahead auch bei diesem Helm das weltweit führende BOA-System ✅ zur Größenanpassung an die Kopfform integriert, welches einen entscheidenden Vorteil bezüglich Sicherheit & Komfort gegenüber den üblichen Systemen anderer Helmhersteller bietet.

In den letzten Wochen habe ich den Helm bei verschiedenen Wetterbedingungen mit dem E-Scooter testen können und bin begeistert, wie luftig dieser aufgrund des Venturi-Systems ist, trotz kaum sichtbarer Luftlöcher. Erst als ich mit dem E-Scooter liegen geblieben bin (Akku leer) und diesen 10km mehrfach bergauf in Wald- und Feldwegen schieben musste, kam die Durchlüftung – und insbesondere ich selbst mit meinen 50+ Jahren – an ihre Grenzen. Hier wäre der KED Pector MTB-Helm – mit den selben Sicherheitfeatures – vorteilhafter.

Auch bei Regen hat sich der Helm positiv bewährt, da der Mitro-UE1 auf dem Oberkopf keine großen Luftlöcher wie die typischen MTB-Helme hat, da diese sich geschützt am Vorderkopf und Hinterkopf befinden.☺️

Positiv hervorheben möchte ich auch den schnell erreichbaren telefonischen Kundensupport ✅.
Ich bin etwas empfindlich am Unterkiefer bezüglich Kinnriemen und habe auch öfters Barthaare im Verschluss eingeklemmt.
Lösung: Fidlock Komfort Polster ✅, welches als Zubehör im KED Onlineshop direkt erhältlich ist.

Jetzt bin ich restlos glücklich mit meinem neuen Helm und kann sicher geschützt und dabei komfortabel & bequem durch Stadt, Land & Natur fahren. 👍🏻

Bin sehr enttäuscht über die Qualität zu diesem Preis. Die bedruckte Folie liegt auf dem Heim teilweise nicht plan auf. Sie wölbt sich deutlich an einer Stelle und ist auch an anderen Stellen nicht dicht anliegend. Bei den Helmen anderer Marken, die wir Zuhause haben, sind die Folien schön fest verklebt ohne Übergang zum Styropor und ohne Luft/Bewegungsspiel.
Auch die Innenpolster wurde nicht gerade liebevoll und sorgfältig angebracht. Der Kleber und das eine Polster sitzen schief und das Polster ragt in den Lüftungsschlitz. Das ist Qualität Made in Germany? Ich werde zukünftig wahrscheinlich auf andere Marken zurückgreifen...

Beim bisherigen Helm, der nun zu klein wird (selbes Produkt, nur kleiner und in grün mit Krokodil) ist nach bereits einem Jahr das kleine Polster als Kinnschutz abgerissen. Auch das ist kein Qualitätsmerkmal für die doch kurze Zeit der Benutzung.

What sets an e-bike helmet apart from a classic bicycle helmet?

“E-bike helmet” is not one uniform equipment class. Use, standard and features can differ from model to model. What counts is the specific product description, the right size and a stable fit.

Which e-bike helmet suits my intended use?

Models for city and everyday riding differ from models for e-MTB and off-road. Start with how you ride, measure your head circumference, and then compare only the features confirmed on the current product page.

What does NTA 8776 mean on an e-bike helmet?

NTA 8776 was developed for helmets used with speed pedelecs. Whether a model meets the standard must be stated on the product page and on the helmet's label. German law does not explicitly name NTA 8776 as a required standard.

How do I find the right size for an e-bike helmet?

Measure your head circumference at the widest part of your head, just above the eyebrows, and compare the result with the model's size range. The helmet should sit level, comfortably and securely, and the closed straps should fit snugly.

Do all KED e-bike helmets have a rotational impact protection system?
