Größenguide

Helmgrößen orientieren sich am Kopfumfang in cm. Die Angabe ist z.B. „48–52“ für S (je nach Modell). Um den Kopfumfang zu messen, legt man ein Maßband oder eine Schnur knapp zwei Finger breit über den Augenbrauen über die Stelle des größten Umfangs einmal um den Kopf herum. Da ein Fahrradhelm nicht zu eng sitzen sollte und da jeder Helm über ein Verstellsystem verfügt, kann man die Helmgröße des Modells (S, M, L, XL … ) für einen angenehmen Sitz bis zu 1 cm größer wählen.

Dieser Sandwichverbund zeichnet sich durch eine höhere Elastizität aus. Das maxSHELL® Verfahren bietet sehr gute Dämpfungseigenschaften und ist extrem robust und langlebig.

Innenliegende Verstärkungselemente wie der Rib Cage ermöglichen die Umsetzung größtmöglicher Ventilationsöffnungen ohne Abstriche bei sicherheitsrelevanten Eigenschaften. Die Strukturverstärkungen werden während des Herstellungsprozesses in der EPS Schale integriert.

EPS Innenschale

Die EPS Innenschale (Expanded Polystyrene) ist die Basis jeder Helmentwicklung. Sie bestimmt die Dämpfungseigenschaften des Helms bei einem Aufprall. Mit unserem 30-jährigen Know-how in der Fertigung von EPS Bauteilen ermöglichen wir die ideale Balance von Gewicht, Lüftungsöffnungen und Materialaufwand. Das Aufschäumen der EPS Kugeln erfolgt in speziellen, von uns gefertigten, Werkzeugen. Die fertige EPS Schale besteht dabei zu 98% aus Luft, welche wie bei einem Gasfederbein die Dämpfung übernimmt. Mit unserem einzigartigen Fertigungsverfahren erzielen wir eine besonders leistungsfähige Gesamtstruktur des EPS Körpers mit sehr hoher Vernetzung der EPS Kugeln und perfekt abgestimmter Dichte.

Are Ked Helmets really "made in Germany"?

Yes! The majority of the KED helmets are manufactured in Germany.

Helmets with the "Made in Germany“Label are produced entirely in Germany, which guarantees the highest production standards and quality. From foaming the helmet in the interior of the helmet to final assembly to the smallest injection molding part, we produce everything under one roof. Every step is checked. This expertise in our own house is important to us, it is our basis to go its own independent ways.

What does "designed and engineered in Germany" mean?

While many of our helmets are manufactured in Germany, there are also some models that are marked as "designed and engineered in Germany". These helmets are designed and developed in Germany, using the same high standards and technologies. However, the production of these helmets takes place outside of Germany, which means that we can offer a wider product range without compromising in quality.

What is that EPS Inner shell and why is it important?

The EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) Interior shell is a central element of every helmet. It determines the damping properties in the event of an impact. Thanks to our 30-year know-how, we achieve a particularly powerful structure that optimally protects in an impact.
