A kids' MTB helmet should stay stable as your child moves and suit forest paths, pump tracks or family rides. The selection includes Embrace Jr and Kailu in different sizes and designs. Measure the head and check ventilation, visor and adjustment system on each model. You'll find all models among the KED kids' helmets.

From when does a child need a bicycle helmet?

As soon as a child rides their own bike or balance bike, a well fitting kids bicycle helmet should be part of the kit. With a child seat or trailer, the maker's notes on seating position and available space also matter. What is decisive is not only age but above all the right size.

What should I look for in a kids bicycle helmet?

Look for a stable, pressure free fit, easy size adjustment and features that suit the child's daily life. A rear light, reflectors or insect protection depend on the model. The product details show what each KED kids helmet actually offers.

Do all KED kids bicycle helmets have a rear light or a rotational impact protection system?

No. A rear light, a rotational impact protection system and other functions are present only on models marked accordingly. Such a system can reduce rotational movements in certain angled impact scenarios; it replaces neither the right size nor a correct fit.

Can a kids helmet be worn with a hat?

A thick hat can change the fit and position of the helmet. If extra warmth is needed it should be thin, and the helmet must still sit centrally, firmly and without pressure points. Check the fit every time the headwear changes.

Can the same kids helmet be used for a balance bike, bicycle and scooter?

A well fitting kids bicycle helmet can be suitable for various riding activities if the manufacturer does not restrict the use. Check the product details, the fit before every ride and the rules for the vehicle in question.

How do I find the right size for a kids bicycle helmet?

Measure the head circumference at the widest point of the head, about two fingers above the eyebrows. Compare the measurement with the model's size range. The kids bicycle helmet should sit centrally, firmly and free of pressure, and must not shift with the strap closed.

How do I care for a kids bicycle helmet?

Clean the shell, straps and padding according to the model's care instructions. As a rule, lukewarm water, mild soap and a soft cloth are enough. Avoid aggressive cleaners, solvents and strong heat.

What should I do with a kids bicycle helmet after a crash?

If the helmet has taken an impact in a crash, it should not be used any further. Damage to the material structure is not always visible. Also follow the notes in the user manual.
