Questions about the Paganini RS-1 Mips

What does Mips do in the KED Paganini RS-1 Mips?

The Mips layer beneath the pads allows a small amount of movement between the helmet and your head during certain angled impacts. It’s designed to help reduce the rotational motion transferred to your head.

Which size do I need in the Paganini RS-1 Mips?

The RS-1 Mips comes in size M for a head circumference of 54–58 cm and size L for 58–61 cm. Measure around your head with the tape level, about two finger widths above your eyebrows. At 58 cm, try both sizes. The helmet should sit level and snug without creating pressure points.

How much does the Paganini RS-1 Mips weigh in sizes M and L?

The RS-1 Mips weighs 280 g in size M and 310 g in size L. For comparison, the standard RS-1 without Mips weighs 250 g in size M and 300 g in size L.

How does the RS-1 Mips stay ventilated on long rides?

Air flows through the RS-1 Mips via 11 vents. The helmet pads absorb sweat and dry quickly. You can remove them for washing after your ride.

Can I dock my cycling glasses on the RS-1 Mips?

Yes. When you take off your glasses, slide the arms into the rubberised slots at the front of the helmet. The video in the product gallery shows how a pair of cycling glasses sits in the dock.

How do I clean the pads in the RS-1 Mips?

Hand-wash the removable pads at 30 °C or below with a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Rinse without wringing them out, then let them air-dry away from heaters and direct sunlight. Put them back in the helmet once they’re completely dry.
